“Readesign” is a playful name that invites reflections and interpretations on the role of design and our designed experiences of reading information.

Readesign references the early senses of ‘read’ going back to the old English ‘rǣdan,’ of Germanic origin, which include ‘advise’ and ‘interpret.’ The name alludes to the design of reading and the interpretation of design while being phonetically identical to the word ‘redesign’ and thus evoking an evolutionary and transformative process. Underlining the intersection between the words ‘read’ and ‘design’ spotlights the name, focuses visual attention, and creates a standalone identifier that can be used in various communications.
